Vocational Training Center MARGARITA will be located from April to June in the thicket of the Naval Base belonging to the Municipality of Vrilissia to carry out its internship with the Vocational Gardening team of EQUALvet.
During the internship, 6 young people with Intellectual Disabilities will be responsible for various cultivation activities that will help maintain the public green space. The aim of the action is for the participants to improve their professional skills and knowledge by taking care of large gardens in real working conditions.
The opening of the action was greeted by the Mayor of Vrilissia, Mr. Xenophon Maniatogiannis, and the Deputy Mayor of Environment, Sustainable Development and Digital Applications, Mr. Mavraganis Alexis. The action was attended by the professional Garden team, the responsible instructor of the Gardening department, Betty Hampidi and the Head of the Educational Program of "Margarita", Ioannis Bistas.
In MARGARITA's first visit the Assistant Gardeners interns pruned the acacia trees with saws and scissors, weeded using various tools and collected the remnants of the prunings and the uprooted weeds with the metal broom.
